Call this the sequel to last summer's amazing Part Time Punks Shoegaze Festival. Scaled down to a Mini-Fest of 6 bands of the very best Dreampop/Shoegaze bands of past, present and future.

Downstairs in The Echoplex, starting at 7pm, we have an amazing bill of dreampop, including BEACH FOSSILS + HALF STRING + DEAD LEAF ECHO. Then, upstairs in The Echo, we have an amazing bill of shoegaze/spacerock including the legendary Creation Records band THE TELESCOPES + LSD & THE SEARCH FOR GOD + TENNIS SYSTEM + Guest DJ BRAD LANER from MEDICINE (and Visuals by Thief!)

One of PTP's favorite-ever bands, BEACH FOSSILS, return to PTP to celebrate the release of their brilliant and oh-so-long awaited 2nd LP, "Clash The Truth" on Captured Tracks. IF you've ever seen the band live before, then you know that they are one of THE best live acts in the country...transforming the songs you already know and love into something even more remarkable...

Formed in 1991 HALF STRING created a lush, guitar-driven brand of noise pop that sounded far removed from Tempe, Arizona and the commercial desert jangle sound usually associated with the local bands of that era. While the group shared an aesthetic with much of the British shoegaze scene, and occasionally recalled the spirit of early 4AD and Factory Records, they carved out a beautiful noise of their own. Half String’s recordings were released through Independent Project Records, and now Captured Tracks as issued a restrospective double-LP (Maps For Sleep) as part of the label’s Shoegaze Archives series.

DEAD LEAF ECHO are one of PTP's favorite new dreampop bands of recent years. Channeling equal parts Pale Saints, Moose and Catherine Wheel, their new full-length "Thought & Language" was produced by John Fryer (the chap responsible for the stellar production of most of 4ad's catalogue in the late 80s/early 90s). And to these ears, is certainly one of the best of the year...

Creation Records' shoegaze legends THE TELESCOPES take the stage for Part Time Punks...with a full band...and a full barrage of songs ranging from "The Perfect Needle" to those perfect records recorded for Creation circa 1991-94, to their dark and swirling new LP, "Auditory Illusions". As a personal note here, I gotta add, The Telescopes were always one of my favorite of the first wave of shoegaze in the 90s, so welcoming them to Part Time Punks is a true honor.

LSD & THE SEARCH FOR GOD return to PTP for the first time in ages, armed with with an arsenal of new tracks from the band's upcoming single and LP. For fans of feedback drenched fuzzy noise bliss ala' Spacemen 3, MBV and, of course, The Telescopes.

Sharing their namesake with a song by predecessor noise pop group The Lilys, TENNIS SYSTEM are keeping the legacies of Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, and the Jesus and Mary Chain alive with their expansive, catchy-as-hell pop songs. Matty Taylor and Misha Bullock are masters of loud and dirty anthems, but rising above the noise that blankets them are Taylor's beautifully sung, dreamy lyrics inspired by both love and art, from the drawings of Egon Schiele to the writing of Aldous Huxley.Teenagers, the gr up's second LP, was released by Kill/Hurt in December of 2011.
