This Sunday at PART TIME PUNKS, history gets made as PTP celebrates its belated 7 (SEVEN!) Year Anniversary...
Sadly, Bush Tetras are stranded in NYC (thanks to Hurricane Sandy) and won't be able to play this Sunday...but they WILL be playing in February 2013...stay tuned for the exact date!
HOWEVER, Terry Malts and Dunes WILL still be playing & we ARE still gonna celebrate the 7 Year Anniversary of PTP, damnit!!!!!!
(Which also means tickets just got a lot cheaper AND you can expect an extended dance party this Sunday, which hasn't happened in far too long...)
One of Slumberland's best-ever signings, TERRY MALTS, have been putting the finishing touches on what promises to be one of the best LPs of 2013. [Their debut LP on SLR making PTP's top 5 LPs of last year, btw.] Their recordings are The Ramones meets Psychocandy-era Jesus And Mary Chain. And if you caught the band when they played PTP last spring, you'll know they're even more blistering live. Fun night fun night fun night fun night!!!

Formed in 2009 from the jagged remains of The Smell stalwarts, Finally Punk, Mika Miko, and Talbot Tagora, DUNES forged their band (and bond) in a shared and jangling dream of pop. Their debut LP, "Noctiluca," released on PPM last spring has drawn near universal raves from Pitchfork, Gorilla Vs Bear, Brooklyn Vegan & the rest of the usual suspects, noting it's dreamy expanses, glowing & echoing guitars and harmonies. [Though live, the sound comes off a bit more angular, like the early Cocteau Twins
recordings.] Here, it should also be noted that the album first began with the track "Palm," which was recorded initially for a Part Time Punks Radio Session, and indeed the entire LP was recorded by Jonathon Deutsche, the talented engineer from KXLU who has recorded the bulk of the PTP Sessions so far!

As a final note here, on the personal side, I would hope that anybody who has EVER come to PTP on a Sunday nite since the club began in 2005 would come down this Sunday and celebrate. 7 years, for fuck's sake!
