Pinkman.tv and GR Works are pleased to present a solo exhibition of painter Alberto Mielgo’s latest works. Please join us for the opening reception on Monday, November 5, from 6-10pm at GR Space114 W. 4th St., Los Angeles, CA 90013. Spanish-born Mielgo takes us on a personal journey of the past three years of his life in painting. His approach to his pieces is by stumbling upon what he finds beautiful, fascinating and inspiring; then, honoring the subjects through his painting. The exhibition aims to celebrate Mielgo’s models and show them in an intimate portrait by highlighting details of their meetings and working process. Mielgo’s paintings feature an eroticism that shows a specific interest in discovering the innocence of the model as well as the greater aspects of the subject and immediacy of the moment. Born in Madrid, Mielgo successfully freelanced for several years in London before making the move toLos Angeles, where he currently is the art director for Disney’s Tron Uprising. His paintings have been shown in Spain and London, and have been part of numerous international art fairs. During his study under master painter Antonio Lopez Garcia in Alberto, Spain, Mielgo won 1st prize for his painting, “Lo que pasó”. His latest creation, Pinkman.tv, has been part of the Jakarta Biennale 2011. Mielgo was also the subject of Alexis Wanneroy’s film, “Innocent in a way,” where the French filmmaker portraits both Mielgo and porn artist Michelle Anne Sinclair “Belladonna” during the creation of a piece.
