___They still want to be a synth band but it's kind of a different thing. It's just not really where we are coming from. I guess we are Lo-Fi because we think the shittiness of the stuff we're using is a good thing, ya know?
What is Hardly Art? Hardly Art is awesome. It's three people apart of Sub Pop. Its a Sub Pop imprint, so they have all of the weight and might of Sub pop at their disposal. It's a smaller label started in order to help bands move along more quickly. Like big labels have to deal with like legal stuff and its hard to get shit going. So Hardly Art can kinda just move fast. If they see a band they can sign it, and they can have a record out in a few months. Whereas with the bigger labels it can take a long time. Like you can hand them your masters and the record doesn't come out for like a year. What is the story with the club "Weird" and what is going on now? Weird no longer exists but it happened every wednesday night at a bar called Home Sweet Home which is on 6th street in Manhattan . I think it started like six years ago. It was kind of the home for synth bands so a lot of really good bands came up from that scene like Martial Canterel and Xeno & Oaklander. They are considered the godfathers of that. After like six years I think they got burnt out on it. It was also a record label too so it was kind of a one stop shop. So they would have shows on wednesdays and they would also put out records. But even though Weird doesn't happen anymore theres a new party on that same night called "Nothing Changes" that was started by a couple of the younger people that were involved in Weird so it's still going on but under a different name. We played it a couple weeks ago with Light House. So that was cool. Interview by Zoe Zag 7-21-13
